KEY
Lonban Cottage is a spacious, newly built, house (finished in 2004) in a beautiful rural location with lovely views in the quiet, south-west corner of the Isle of Coll. Lonban Cottage is on Lonban Farm, a working Hebridean farm of 1000 acres, consisting of easily walked hill, dunes and its own loch.
Part of the farm is a triple Site of Scientific Interest and also a Special Protection Area for Corncrakes. It is a short walk of about 10 minutes or 20 minutes to Breachacha Bay or Hogh Bay, both large beaches of golden sand.
Lonban Farm borders the RSPB Reserve where a large variety of birds can be seen at different times of the year, from corncrakes in summer to several species of geese through the winter. See www.collbirds.co.uk for more information.
There are also otters, seals and whales to be seen at sea and many rare protected habitats. Coll offers unlimited walking, cycling, bird watching and there are many beautiful beaches of golden sand which are almost empty.
Equipped and furnished to a high standard, the house has a double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. One twin room is downstairs and two bedrooms, one twin and one double, are upstairs. As all the bedrooms are large there is scope for extra accommodation in the bedrooms for children if required.
The large lounge has a multi fuel stove. There is a television but no reception, however there is a video & videos in the house, as well as a CD player & radio.
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, freezer, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer machine and all usual small appliances.
There is a bathroom on the first floor with bath, wc and wash hand basin, and a separate shower room on the ground floor with a power shower, wc and wash hand basin.
There is full oil fired central heating and a fenced garden surrounding the property.
You can enjoy award winning dining and bar at the Coll Hotel at Arinagour, a Cafe, an Art Gallery and three craft shops.
Above all there is peace and quiet to relax, and wonderful views to enjoy.
